Bio: For those wondering what “mundo_da_romi” means, it simply translates to “romi’s world” in Portuguese. The name was inspired by how my cross cultural background (my world) shapes me as a human being, always striving to become a better person than I was yesterday. Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil to a Japanese and Italian family, we moved to Miami, Florida in the late 70’s where I spent most of my days, leading up to college. After graduating from design school with an Interior Design degree in the late 90’s, and having fallen in love with Seattle + PNW during one summer vacation, I eventually made my dream come true by moving to Washington State. I started out like most interior designers at an architecture firm in downtown Seattle. l have been nothing less than fortunate with my career growth, but 20 years later in the design field with some deeeeep soul searching, I’ve finally come to realize that, perhaps, I should spend less time doubting myself as an illustrative artist, and begin spending more time in sharing what I love the most with the rest of the world – spreading
