INSTRUCTORS

Irene Rex (SHE/HER)

As an experienced market vendor, Irene has become known for her recognizable, immersive booth designs for her illustrated home goods brand Chroma Rex. The secret? BS & MS degrees in materials & process engineering, with a previous career in aerospace design/manufacturing! When she isn’t creating colorful, artistic home goods, Irene’s happily combining her engineering and artistic knowledge to advise fellow entrepreneurs on achieving that elusive trifecta of market booth portability, durability, and aesthetics, all with use of readily-available, lightweight materials in unconventional ways. Irene’s creative work can be found at ChromaRex.com, and more of her small-business-focused engineering consulting at Hypha-Nova.com

Domonique Juleon (she/her)

Domonique Juleon, MBA, is a passionate business strategist and advocate for creative entrepreneurs. As Executive Vice President at Business Impact NW, Domonique leads programs and initiatives that support thousands of small business owners across the Pacific Northwest, with a special focus on underrepresented communities. KRISTEN RASK (SHE/HER)
Kristen is one of the organizers of Urban Craft Uprising, a maker, a baker and an avid reader. UCU takes up a good chunk of my time but when I’m not clacking away on my computer, I can often be found in my studio working on various fiber arts, baking, reading or cuddling with a cat. My goal for 2026 is to have a pretty boring year with as little trauma as possible.  2025 was a doozy.  I also hope to build on community both within UCU and in Tacoma where I reside. I LOVE the maker community and feel so grateful to have landed in a craft show over 25 years ago. I have participated in many craft shows in the country over those years, wrote 8 or 9 craft books and love working with small businesses SO MUCH. I hope that my experience as both a vendor and an organizer can provide people with a different perspective to help better their chances of getting into shows while also inspiring people to find their own way within the craft show world as it is big and ready for you all!

heather peek (she/her)
Heather grew up in the beautiful and creative PNW, going to craft shows and shopping in small stores. Although she loves to craft, she has largely been in the management and production side of shows. Heather volunteered with Urban Craft Uprising at the age of 17 while she was studying geology. She always admired the way vendors share and/or collaborate but do their own unique thing and kept coming back to UCU! She went on to become UCU’s first ongoing intern which eventually landed her a more permanent position with the team. When she is not working she enjoys playing with her various animals, adding googly eyes and glitter to just about everything, traveling and crafting. Working with all these creative folks is a dream job and she is excited to continue meeting new people on their own artistic journey!

Camp ThunderCraft wouldn’t be nearly as awesome without our generous sponsors! All these wonderful businesses are helping out in some way to make sure the weekend is super fantastic.
