I’ve been called the Bug Lady, but I’m no lady and there’s more to me than bugs—there are snakes and flowers and fish and frogs. I know it’s impossible to outshine the brilliant patterns and colors of nature, but I can’t resist creating my own species with all kinds of media and artsy paper. Throw in some inspiration from Mexico and India, and a touch of vintage flavor, and you’ve got the ingredients of Hiss Buzz Hum, a collection of hand-made paper goods and original art. I work out of my home studio in beautiful Portland, Oregon. My techniques are old-school: painting, drawing, collage, hand-sewing, but I aim for the results to be fresh and fun.
