Bio: Like a baker who doesn’t eat carbs, I’m a jewelry designer without pierced ears. The years before I started A Stone’s Throw, I was a math teacher, a rock-climbing instructor, and a whitewater rafting guide. I never dreamed of working in fashion… I stumbled upon jewelry design after many dark months followed the loss of my grandmother in 2002. Working with gemstones to make a few jewelry gifts that next spring was the first thing that had filled me with joy since her passing. To the shock of many who knew my tomboyish ways, A Stone’s Throw was born. My jewelry designs reflect my affection for symmetry, attention to detail, and my active lifestyle that dictates a fuss-free style. I aim to make effortless jewelry for women on the move. I want my pieces to be balanced, easy to wear, and to compliment one’s sense of style – not define it. I use top-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship so that my work stands the test of time, both stylistically and mechanically. Giving back has always been part of my business model. I donate 5%-10% of my event sales to local non-profits that support women, children, and refugees. In 2019, A Stone’s Throw donated $5,602 to more than 20 local non-profits and I plan on exceeding this in 2020!
