Bio: Hi! I’m Kelsey Fanning, owner of Common Goods Seattle, a handmade jewelry company that debuted in Spring 2022. Kelsey has been a life-long crafter and after years of hearing “you should do that professionally” she is going for it!. In a former life Kelsey trained to be an academic, reaching the all but dissertation level of her PhD in contemporary literature and culture. Now that she is pulling a career 180, Kelsey is thrilled to find her niche as a queer, disabled maker. Her current goal is establishing Common Goods Seattle as profitable handmade business so that she can reinvest proceeds from special designs into community organizations for minoritized communities. As a new business owner, Kelsey can’t wait to network with other crafters who envision the maker movement as a horizon for social justice.
