Bio: Anna Snook is a third-generation artist from the Pacific Northwest, working with watercolor and 3d mediums to create natural illustrations and paper botanicals. Growing up, she spent many a day catching frogs or turning over logs to find salamanders, gathering snails and slugs along the way. Today that love for denizens of the forest floor finds its way into many of her motifs. She revels in the soft translucence of watercolor and all the tones and layers the medium affords for recreating detailed petals and leaves. After working as a preschool teacher for many years, Anna started The Paper Fern Studio in 2022. She began doing art full-time upon moving to Snohomish from Seattle soon after. When she’s not in the studio, she enjoys reading and writing and taking walks to find slugs and mushrooms in the forest.
