Bio: Growing up in a family brimming with creativity, I was fortunate to have two inspiring grandmothers—one a potter and the other a painter—who fueled my passion for art from an early age. Following their lead, I pursued a fine arts degree and immersed myself in the world of painting, but eventually turned to nursing to help pay bills. Through the years spent as a hospice nurse, I found solace and rejuvenation in pottery, as a hobby- a craft deeply rooted in my family history. Amidst the emotional toll of caregiving, pottery became my refuge, offering a therapeutic outlet to unwind and reconnect. When Covid swept through our community, in early 2020, I fell ill and battled the virus and its lingering effects, but ultimately was unable to return to nursing. However, this unexpected turn of events led me back to pottery—thanks to a friend who offered me work in her studio. Now, I find myself back in the realm of creativity, crafting pots and sharing my creations with the world. It’s a journey of rediscovery and resilience, as I embrace the role of craftsman and entrepreneur, and draw inspiration from my grandmother’s legacy.
