Bio: I grew up surrounded and encouraged by artists of all stripes, dabbling in every medium available. I took my first metalsmithing class at age 15. As a then-undiagnosed neurodivergent, it was my first experience feeling like a good student. I’ve been creating jewelry and small objects ever since. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to study with many nationally-renown jewelers. Along the way, I also earned a BA in History and an MA in Communication. Both of these, while not directly related to metalsmithing, inform my work and my teaching. I love how metal moves. I love that ancient techniques blend seamlessly with new technologies. I love the possibilities that open up every day. I love most of all seeing my work become part of someone else’s story. My current work is informed by my sense of humor, latent punk rock sensibilities, and interests in mid-century modern, minimalist and Arabesque design.
