Bio: I currently live and work in Mount Vernon, WA –the magic Skagit! I have been running my art/design business since 2010. I started primarily making sculptural furniture and selling it at art fairs and through collector commissions. I also did a lot of teaching art workshops to adults and occasionally, kids. Prior to starting my art business, I had been a high school art teacher in Seattle for 7 years. I left teaching to go earn my MFA in Fiber and Material Studies from Cranbrook Academy of Art and graduated in 2010. In 2015, I expanded my business to include selling art/design objects through an online shop, giving me a much wider reach in building a collector base and cultivating a community of supporters. Over the years I have been a guest speaker and professor at several art colleges. I have also shown/sold my artwork through galleries and in 2022 completed a large commission for the Bellevue Art Museum for an installation of 15 pieces of sculptural furniture for their permanent collection. After facing some significant health issues in 2020, I have started rethinking how to reconstruct my art business in a way that it is easier on my mind, body, and also more financially stable. My new goals are on finding Fun, feeling Fantastic and focusing on Financial Freedom!
