Bio: I grew up in a very crafty family (thank you Mom) and have been able to explore many forms of craft, from sewing and candle-making to ceramics and blacksmithing during my lifetime. In 2016, I took an online “Making Leather Bags” course; leather sewing was new to me.
Next, I combined the leftover leather from that project with leather boots from my closet- the resulting bag was very cool. Next, I began looking for leather goods in local thrift stores (jackets, skirts, and belts). The rest, as they say, is history!
The majority of the leather goods used in making my bags are already part of the system vs new leather hides. It has always been important for me to have a small footprint on this planet. In keeping with this commitment, we moved to our off-grid, solar-powered retirement home in Chewelah, WA in October this year.
I have been vending to sell my creations since 2018. I have learned a lot these past seven years but there is so much more to learn. I want to be the go-to artisan for creating bespoke leather bags from leather goods holding sentimental value for my clients.
