Bio: My name is Jean Ogilvie, and I live and work in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago, IL. I’ve been a maker my entire life, but it wasn’t until last year that I felt empowered to leave an unfulfilling career in corporate communications and begin putting down roots for myself and my own aspirations. My Etsy shop SewChoice is my embrace of that daydream. After refining my skills for the last six months, I am starting to generate product and shape my business. My work features traditional fabric embroidery as well as stitching with alternative materials like paper and cardboard. My practice reflects my love of color, texture, and pattern and a fascination for language, letters, and type. I hope to learn from and build community as I learn to build my business!
