Bio: Kylie Waibel is a self-taught, Seattle-based artist primarily working in mixed media and black and white illustration. Born in DuBois, Pennsylvania, she moved to the PNW to attend the Art Institute of Seattle in 2003. Since she was a girl, she has been producing art, taking an interest in all creative endeavors from a young age. Black and white illustrating is my primary medium, but I also work in many others. Over time, my style has developed into a semi-realistic representation of life, mostly depicted through meticulous, clean lines and my interpretation of cross-hatched shading. I draw inspiration from nature, the human psyche, and the depth and beauty of everyday items.
