Leeanna Butcher
Plush Goodness

Leeanna Butcher is the owner and creative force behind Plush Goodness, a handmade business that focuses on one-of-a-kind plush art. A creative person who has loved to draw and craft since childhood, Leeanna focused that creativity into a BFA in Character Animation from the California Institute of the Arts, where she learned how to translate her doodles into fully fleshed characters with personality. Plush Goodness came about after a moment of creative frustration with an illustration she was working on that wasn’t coming out the way she wanted. In an effort to stay creative yet do something to bust out of the creative block with her painting, she doodled a simple character, grabbed a few sheets of craft felt and an emergency sewing kit, and created her first piece of plush. From that moment on, she knew that creating plush characters was her future, and she hasn’t looked back since. Entirely self-taught, Leeanna opened her etsy shop in 2008, and has been steadily creating work since that time, with pieces included in art shows around the USA, as well as participating in local craft fairs. She specializes in Plush Portraits of people and pets, along with all sorts of creatures and characters from her imagination. Leeanna creates her work at her home studio in beautiful Seattle, WA, where she lives with her scruffy dog and equally scruffy artist husband.

Elevator Pitch: Plush Goodness is a one-woman handmade business focusing on creating one-of-a-kind, cute and quirky plush art with tons of personality. Specializing in custom Plush Portraits of people and pets, Plush Goodness gives you the opportunity to commission a truly heirloom piece of soft sculpture art of the people or pets that you love, or for the people that you love. If custom work isn’t your cup of tea, she also creates a myriad of characters straight from her imagination, using the doodles and sketches that make her laugh as inspiration for the 3D “pillow-style” plush she makes in her home studio in Seattle.
