Arte RCXR

Bio: Rafa is the artist known as RCXR and he uses his artwork to create positive conversations and to visibilize BIPOC in art spaces. Rafa has donated his work to help advance the mission of Washington nonprofits focused on social justice and education for the Latinx community.
Rafa is an indigenous Mexican artist from Veracruz Mexico. He lived in la Huasteca in Veracruz until he was 5 years old, and then he followed his mom and three sisters to La GuerreroĆ¢ in Mexico City. When he was 12 he started working to support his family. He worked as a delivery person, as a waiter, as a general employee at Burger King and Costco, and at printing workshops in La Obrera. Thanks to working in printing workshops Rafa developed a strong passion for graphic arts, and started to create art to communicate his ideas. Today Rafa uses art as a platform to share powerful stories and foster positive conversations about social justice, anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion.
