Bio: Generational Thread was born out of my love of creating handmade embroidered, quilted and crocheted items for friends and family. These items ranged from simply pretty to highly functional (and pretty too!) but were made to be loved and passed on to future generations. The skills used to create these items are also generational. I learned to do embroidered tea towels from my mom (basically as soon as I was old enough to use a needle without stabbing one of my brothers with it). My mom also taught me quilting, and we spent lots of fall and winter evenings stitching at the quilting frame listening to music or with a favorite movie playing in the background. I learned to crochet from my grandmother when I was about 10 or 12 years old. She was a talented and clever left hander and I was a rookie right hander, so I sat facing her and learned the stitches backwards from what she was doing. Thus began a lifetime of creating threaded things to share with family, friends and future generations.
