I have been crafting over the past 30 plus years primarily as a seasonal business aside from my fulltime working career. I’m passionate about the creative process and in making one of a kind gifts incorporating antique and vintage materials. My focus has been on handmade, one-of-a-kind angel creations; which have been the most rewarding to make. Although I have not had a fulltime craft business I have been in the workplace for over 40 years and understand the commitment and hard work needed for success. My twin sister and I have committed to this business venture and we’ll divide responsibilities for the business aspects and creative development responsibilities.
Elevator Pitch: At Memories of Yesteryear we create unique, vintage-inspired Angels, tea cozies, satchel bags, vests, and floral ribbon pins from vintage linens, lace, & ribbons, with antique pearl & glass buttons, and specialty fiber remnants & other embellishments. These one-of-a-kind designs are timeless pieces reflecting the character and memories of days gone by. Our focus over the years has been in creating “An Angel Treasure” series featuring handmade angel designs. A written summary accompanies each angel with a brief history of textiles used and words of sentiment reflecting the special occasion (Christmas, wedding, birth/christening, encouragement, congratulations, appreciation, hope, etc.) when gifting each angel creation.
